Description:
ROK Builders has completed nine major hotel renovations on behalf of Walsh Associates, Inc, owner representative to Och-Ziff Real Estate throughout 2008 and beginning of 2009. ROK Builders coordinated the project supervision and subcontract bidding for all sites. This project consisted of 1,007 guestrooms, corridors, public areas, ADA guestroom compliance and exterior renovations that were completed in three phases, with three sites under construction per phase.
The Wallingford, Connecticut site consisted of both interior and exterior renovations coordinated simultaneously while the hotel was still operating. The interior renovations included 119 guestrooms, four corridors and public areas. The exterior renovations included a full EFIS replacement and roof repairs; along with new windows and ptac grills.
Each project, except for the Wallingford, Connecticut site, was based on a 5-week, 35 work day renovation schedule. The flow of communication was essential for success of these projects, between the hotel management, owner representative and contractors in an operating hotel.
BMA Architectural Group, PC provided the architectural design services and specifications necessary to update the existing hotel properties to the latest Fairfield Inn design scheme.
