In 1982, Fred Roedel moved his business, Chalet Suisse Inc., from Nashua to his hometown of Wilton. He sold that enterprise, a chain of 35 motels, in 2000 and formed the Roedel Companies. "Now we are on a new adventure," said David Roedel, a partner in the company. Although the company still owns and operates a line of hotels, now they construct hotels for other people through the company Total Hospitality Solutions.

They are currently overseeing a $12 million project for The Moultonborough Hotel Group in Tilton, a Hampton Inn and Suites.

"We started (this type of consulting) about two years ago," Roedel said. "The hotels and motels (we work with) are individually owned, with a national franchise."

Roedel Companies opened the Hilton in Manchester near the new ballpark.

"That is our home base hotel. We do work all over New England and the mid-Atlantic states. We have been doing some major renovations." Chalet Suisse constructed, owned, operated and franchised a chain of Suisse Chalet and Grand Chalet hotels throughout the eastern United Sates. The company has a 40-year track record in the hotel business.

Fred Roedel and his wife Kay moved to Wilton in 1976.
