Burke Hits One Out Of The Park At The Hilton Garden Inn
September 26, 2006
MANCHESTER - The latest work from local artist Jim Burke was unveiled at the Hilton Garden Inn Downtown Manchester on September 21.
Around 500 of Burke’s family, friends and fans attended the event to show their support for him, as well as the Hilton Garden Inn. Manchester Mayor Frank Guinta also came to show his support, commenting that he is a fan of Burke’s work and has several of his paintings in his office.
Burke’s piece, ‘On Deck’, is set in the 1920’s and was a tribute to the early days of Queen City Baseball. Burke concentrated on the heart and soul of Manchester’s Amoskeag Textile Club, placing the viewer behind the plate and allowing them to view the city landscape as it was in the 1900’s.
“I am thrilled to have my work associated with the Roedel Family, the Hilton Garden Inn, and all of the new life in the Millyard area of Downtown Manchester,” commented Burke. “It’s a real honor having my work so warmly received back home.”
‘On Deck’ has been commissioned by Roedel Companies, LLC the owner, developer and operator of the Hilton Garden Inn, and will be on display for residents and visitors of Manchester to enjoy.
