Roedel Companies and Alta Properties Purchase Clarion Hotel

The property will reopen as La Quinta Inn & Suites and feature an upscale banquet facility

MANCHESTER, NH – Residents and visitors will soon be greeted with a revitalized backdrop when they enter Manchester at exit 6 off I-293.  New Hampshire based hotel owner/operators Roedel Companies in partnership with Alta Properties have purchased the Clarion Hotel on Front Street.  The property will undergo a multi-million dollar renovation and reopen as La Quinta Inn & Suites Manchester, featuring a 115 room hotel, stylish banquet center, and repositioned restaurant. The Clarion and Hart’s Turkey Farm will close immediately so construction may commence. The city planning and permit process is now being finalized.

Slated to open in the fall, the multifaceted property will become a rejuvenated gateway to Manchester. The main entrance and lobby of the existing hotel will be relocated to the north side of the building facing Amoskeag Street.  A meeting and banquet facility will be constructed in the current lobby and meeting room area.  Exterior improvements, new signage, and landscaping will also provide handsome curb appeal at this well-traveled intersection.

A workforce of 50 is expected to be hired during the construction phase.  When the facility and Hart’s Turkey Farm reopen to the public, approximately 60 full and part time employees will manage day to day operations.

Jay Minkarah, Director of the Manchester Economic Development Office, says the revamp project will transform the overall image of the property.  “The proposed improvements for La Quinta Inn & Suites will effectively reposition the property, improve its functionality and provide much needed conference space for Manchester,” explained Minkarah.

Roedel Companies owns and operates the Hilton Garden Inn Manchester and a select portfolio of nationally branded hotels throughout the Northeast, including other Hilton Garden Inns, Hampton Inn and Suites, and Holiday Inn Express and Suites.  In addition, the company builds and renovates hotels throughout the Eastern United States for its own account and third parties through ROK Builders its construction management subsidiary.

Hart’s Turkey Farm offers quality meals in its Meredith and Manchester restaurants. The organization also provides catering services to private events and corporate functions.

“The location offers a superior opportunity to rejuvenate one of our city’s important entry points,” stated David Roedel, Partner of Roedel Companies. “We are excited that this showcase development will be the cornerstone of a prominent gateway into the Queen City.”
