Menu will celebrate ingredients that are indigenous to the Adirondacks
Wilton, NH – Roedel Companies has announced a new addition to its renovation of the Hotel Saranac, a signature restaurant named Campfire, Adirondack Grill & Bar. The restaurant, located on the street level facing main street, will celebrate the history and heritage of Saranac Lake and the Adirondacks. Campfire will offer a warm, welcome and a bit adventurous dining experience for locals and hotel guests alike, evoking the fun and heartfelt memories shared around campfires. Menu items will be inspired by camp cooking that was prevalent within the region in the 19th and 20th centuries, and will feature ingredients indigenous to the Adirondacks including maple syrup, wild leeks, wild cranberries, venison, rabbit, duck, turkey, bass, trout and salmon.
The concept behind Campfire, Adirondack Grill & Bar was developed by Korn Design and Grill Ventures International. Javier Cortés, Partner and Creative Director of Korn Design, explained that the keystone of the restaurant’s design and food offerings is the single common element found throughout all camp cooking: fire. The theme will be embodied within the restaurant in several ways including a display kitchen with a wood-burning grill, intimately intertwining guests with fire throughout their dining experience. The use of wood, coals, iron skillets, flames and smoke in the kitchen will be key sensory signals reflecting camp cookery.
“Campfires are places of warmth and security; they are a welcoming symbol of community and sharing,” stated Cortés. “We want guests to feel the same sense of peace and comradery when joining us at Campfire to create new memories.”
To honor the people and experiences that make Saranac Lake and the Adirondacks so special, Roedel Companies is inviting individuals to share pictures of their family camping trips over the decades. Pictures can be shared electronically through the Hotel Saranac Facebook page. These photos will be compiled in a special collection to be featured in Campfire, Adirondack Grill & Bar.
ROK Builders, LLC, the hotel construction affiliate of Roedel Companies, LLC will partner with Group One Partners, Inc., an award-winning architecture and interior design firm based in Boston, on the interior design and layout of the restaurant. The Hotel Saranac will remain closed during construction and reopen in 2016.
