Launch Newest Projects in Manchester and Nashua with Grand Openings on June 2 and June 9
WILTON, NH – New Hampshire has always been pivotal to the growth of Roedel Companies, and that holds true in 2016 with the June openings of The Event Center at the Courtyard by Marriott Nashua located off Route 3 in Nashua and The Falls Event Center located right off Exit 6 on Interstate 293, adjacent to the La Quinta Inn and Suites in Manchester.
Fred Roedel, who founded Roedel Companies, launched his career in the hospitality business in 1967 with a single motor lodge in Nashua, growing it into the largest privately held hotel chain in the northeast under the Susse Chalet and Grand Chalet brands until it was sold in 2000. He started Roedel Companies with sons Fred III and David that same year. Now, four of the 11 branded or independent hotels Roedel Companies own or operate are in New Hampshire: Courtyard by Marriott Nashua, the Holiday Inn Express & Suites in Merrimack, as well as the La Quinta Inn & Suites and the Hilton Garden Inn in Manchester. The company also offers third party hotel construction and project management services to hotel owners throughout the eastern United States.
“We’re a New Hampshire company and we have deep ties in this state,” says David W. Roedel, Managing Member. “More importantly, we want to make sure each property is a centerpiece that reflects the distinctiveness of the community.”
The impact of Roedel Companies has certainly been felt close to home. In Manchester, the company took a bankrupt property and reinvented the entire facility to develop the La Quinta Inn & Suites and The Falls Event Center.
The lobby and elevator were moved to change the point of entrance from behind the building to its current location facing the road. The opening of The Falls Event Center is the final piece of a completely new strategy.
The Granite State plays a key role in the company’s newest focus: conference centers. The Event Center in Nashua, offering over 14,000-square feet, will have its Grand Opening celebration on June 9, while The Falls Event Center in Manchester, with 6,000-sqaure feet, will have its ribbon-cutting event on June 14. They are among four conference centers Roedel Companies is launching in a 10-month period.
The Nashua and Manchester facilities represent spaces that are adjacent to the hotel rooms on site, but are viewed as separate entities by consumers.
“We created jobs and added much-needed event space to both cities,” David Roedel says. Roedel Companies are also opening two other conference centers featuring extensive meeting and event spaces: Mount Kisco Events at the Holiday Inn in Mount Kisco, N.Y., in May, and Hotel Saranac in Saranac Lake, N.Y., later this year.
David Roedel says market studies, along with extensive knowledge of the markets, clearly demonstrated a need for more modern, progressive event room space in all four markets. “It is a shift in philosophy based on the needs of each marketplace,” Roedel says. “But we’re always looking for new avenues to grow the company and we liked this opportunity. We created a food and beverage division so we are able to take on opportunities with restaurants and meeting spaces like this as they arise.”
The Event Center will be fully serviced by Roedel’s hotel management subsidiary, RGH Hospitality. The Falls Center is partnering with the Tidewater Catering Group of Manchester to provide the food and beverage service.
Roedel Companies also utilized its affiliate construction management company, ROK Builders, to complete the renovations and RSJ Associates for interior design and furniture, fixtures and equipment (FF&E) procurement.
